Senior Data Governance Specialist (m/w/d)

Your responsibilities:

  • Lead and execute company-wide data governance initiatives to ensure data quality, compliance, and security across the organization
  • Act as a trusted advisor and liaison between business units, technical teams, and senior leadership, leveraging strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Design and implement governance frameworks based on Collibra (business glossaries, reference data, data dictionaries)
  • Configure and maintain Collibra’s operating model, including metadata, workflows, and data quality frameworks
  • Develop documentation for data lineage and perform impact analyses using Collibra
  • Automate data quality rules and monitoring processes within Collibra
  • Integrate Collibra with data virtualization solutions (e.g., Starburst, Trino) and modern cloud platforms, with a focus on AWS
  • Promote the adoption of governance tools and processes across the business and report governance KPIs to senior management
  • Architect governance solutions for data quality and data lineage on the Cloud Analytics Platform

Required Skills, Education, Knowledge and Experience:

  • 10–12+ years of experience in data governance and ideally a strong consulting background
  • Proven, hands-on expertise in Collibra, including metadata models, workflows, integrations, and APIs
  • Solid experience designing and implementing governance solutions on AWS
  • Practical experience with data virtualization technologies (e.g., Starburst, Trino) and a deep understanding of data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA)
  • Strong knowledge of SQL, Python, Spark, and modern data architectures (Data Mesh, Data Fabric)
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with experience managing teams and projects in an agile environment
  • Excellent documentation, presentation, and communication skills
  • Fluent in English, written and spoken

  • Databricks knowledge
  • Experience with other data governance platforms such as Alation, Informatica, Ataccama, Talend, OvalEdge, Solidatus, or similar tools is also welcome
